Help light Ferns up this Christmas. This year we’re delighted to hold our quiz in-person on Friday, November 18th at 8pm in The Thatch lounge.
Our annual fundraiser is a great way to get together at a community event while supporting a much appreciated resource – Christmas lights – bringing warmth and cheer to our community and visitors. Funds raised go towards maintenance and erection of lights. Every year we try to purchase new lights or features but this is dependent on amounts raised. Last year we raised €2,460 and were fortunate to get a grant of €1,500 which may not be available this year. Unfortunately we didn’t reach the required target which means other planned projects were impacted negatively.
Because of the energy crisis, we are reducing the time when the lights will be switched on. We also plan to hold a ‘switch on’ ceremony, details of which will be announced in due course.
We would like to thank those businesses who facilitate the plugging in of lights, ensuring that Ferns shines each Christmas.
To register and book a table at the quiz, click on this link. To ensure security of online payment we are using Eventbrite (they charge a small fee for this service). Raffle tickets will be sold in advance – we would appreciate if you could support by purchasing tickets. Tickets range from €5 (3 strips) to €10 (6 strips). Ticket sellers who are members of Ferns Community Development Association will be selling tickets in-person.
